For those preparing to enter the teaching profession. In 15 months of full-time study or two to three years of part-time study, students acquire a teaching certificate and the skills necessary for success as an elementary, secondary or early childhood education teacher, or as a teacher of English as a second language. All programs are approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.

Program requires a strong liberal arts background as evidenced in prior graduate or undergraduate study, professional course work at Notre Dame, and an extended internship experience in a selected professional development center. With approval, up to six credits of relevant graduate course work at the B level may be transferred from other accredited institutions.

Offered on the main campus in Baltimore, the Higher Education & Conference Center at HEAT in Aberdeen, at the Anne Arundel Community College campuses, and in Southern Maryland (no TESOL certification).
