Ask any Notre Dame student to explain the essence of the Women’s College and you’re likely to get slightly different answers. This makes sense, because the focus of the Women’s College experience is highly individual. In short, it’s all about you—your intellectual interests, your career ambitions, your leadership potential—and how we can help you pinpoint and shape your direction in life.
It’s a place where you gain that sense of competence to give your confidence just the right push—and wings. It’s a place where your knowledge blossoms, where your ideas flourish, and where the passion of learning empowers you to take action.
For more than a century, the Women’s College has been that place where women have developed their voice, their goals, and not surprisingly, their ability to change the world around them. As one student simply said, “You will change when you come here and find potential you never know you had.”
The College’s renowned four-year undergraduate program, with its 27 major fields of study in the liberal arts and sciences, attracts a highly select and diverse group of students from across the U.S. and around the world. This student body represents both traditionally-aged college undergraduates 17-24 years old, as well as women 25 and older who can commit to full-time study. Our richly diverse blend of ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, beliefs, and nationalities combine to produce a supportive and stimulating academic community with a shared passion for learning and mutual respect for one another.
