2008 Season Outlook
Having lost no seniors to graduation, Notre Dame will look to build upon what they started last season. The Gators came within a tie-breaker of reaching the postseason in their first season of play in their new conference and look forward to spiking their competition in 2008.
Returnees from last season include seniors Regina Atwood, Kimberly Myers and Joy Weems. The six-foot tall Atwood will be called upon to provide key contributions at the net, while Myers will be one of the more-called-upon outside hitters on the team. Weems is also a force to be reckoned with at the net and will be counted on to match last year's performance when she finished second in the conference in blocks.
Four sophomores round out the list of returnees, including Second Team All-Conference outside hitter Catherine Subrizi. Subrizi finished second in the conference in kills (3.78/game) and seventh in service aces per game (0.78/game) in 2007. Sophomore setter Christina Kudrna will build upon her freshman season after placing third in the conference in assists, averaging 8.09 per game. Ebony Rivers and India Scott will provide additional depth at both the offensive and defensive sides of the net.
Joining the Gators squad this year are several first-year players including Briana Grap, Samantha Keys, Kathryn Murphy and Pam Prifti.
