A special tribute gala honoring the University's eleventh president on the occasion of her retirement.

Since her inauguration in 1997, Dr. Mary Pat Seurkamp has led Notre Dame through an unprecedented era of progress and growth. The Blue and White Ball celebrates President Seurkamp's remarkable legacy of leadership and innovation. Please join us to show your appreciation for 15 years of unwavering dedication to Notre Dame's educational mission. President Seurkamp retires in June 2012.

Entertainment

The evening will feature the music of New York’s own Michael Carney Orchestra. Carney, who describes his music as "dancing jazz," has assembled a repertoire that includes Broadway show tunes, bossa nova and samba beats, Motown, disco and top hits from the '50s and '60s. Carney has been featured at many venues across the globe, including the Metropolitan Opera, Palace de Versailles in Paris, Corcoran Gallery and has performed at the White House 11 times during the Ford, Reagan and George Bush administrations.

Transportation

Valet parking will be complimentary for all guests.

Shuttle service will also be available from the Notre Dame campus to Marriott Waterfront throughout the evening.

The Seurkamp Fund for Academic Excellence

The proceeds from the Blue and White Ball will be used to establish the first endowed scholarship fund of the University era at Notre Dame. In addition, as part of the University’s master plan, a campus facility will be named in honor of President Seurkamp as a permanent tribute to her leadership and the educational innovation and academic excellence she inspired during her presidency.
