Our Students

The music department gave me a wonderful experience at Notre Dame. As a music minor, I took advantage of numerous classes offered, an intriguing Musical Mosaic course, a delightful World Music course, and Concert Choir. My studies were enhanced by private lessons in piano and trumpet. I enjoyed participating in student recitals and in my senior year, presented a full recital in both instruments. It amazes me how much the members of the music faculty were willing to work with me and I cherish them greatly for all their support.

All of my best memories of Notre Dame involve the music department. My experiences as a choir member and officer taught me valuable leadership skills, helped me build lifelong friendships, and provided me with some wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experiences.  I’ll never forget singing in the Pantheon in Rome and the Duomo in Florence, Italy, or conducting during the Christmas concert my senior year. MENC (Music Educators National Conference) programs such as lectures and conferences really sparked my interest in education, and helped me discover my vocation  as a teacher.
