The Center for Caring with Technology
The School of Nursing’s Center for Caring with Technology is a state-of-the-art clinical education facility featuring three sophisticated simulation labs.
The Center, which opened at the beginning of the 2013 academic year, is located in the new 36,500-square-foot University Academic Building. The Center includes two health assessment labs, two adult medical-surgical labs, an obstetrical/newborn/pediatric lab with a home health component, and two patient examination rooms.
With a scarcity of local clinical sites for nursing students to obtain clinical experience, the Center’s simulation labs, equipped with computer-powered human simulator mannequins, provide a realistic and risk-free environment for students to practice nursing skills and develop clinical reasoning. The Center also fills an essential role in meeting the urgent demand for more nursing educators by supporting graduate courses in the Leadership in Nursing Education program.
Notre Dame nursing students were featured on WBAL-TV working in the Center for Caring with Technology's new simulation lab.
