CONTENT:
Students will examine how the Supreme Court sets policy and precedent for business, nonprofits, and government entities. The class will review the history of the United States Supreme Court, key decisions of the Court, the confirmation process for Justices, and the upcoming cases on the Court’s docket for 2013.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Trace the evolution of history of Supreme Court
2. Describe and assess the impact of key Supreme Court decisions
3. Identify and analyze the interactions between justice ideology and political climate on success or failure of confirmation process
4. Compare prior court decisions with current Court docket
