This lower-level course has as its major objective to introduce students to major linguistic and cultural features of Spanish. This course is aimed at helping non-native speakers of Spanish in skill development for listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural awareness.
MY EXPECTATIONS FOR YOU:
You should prepare for each class, spending the three hours assigned to class time and approximately two hours of preparatory work weekly. You should complete all assignments. Ask questions when they arise. You are human beings first and students second.
YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR YOU:
You should know more at the end of the course than you do at the beginning. Set aside extra time for you to study. Set aside the same QUIET space for you to study a bit every night (20 minutes a night, every night should suffice, along with some concentrated study time once a week). Active participation is encouraged. Many documents are housed on Blackboard. Final exam will be on Blackboard.
