Awarding Process

New Women’s College Students

Prospective students are considered for financial aid after they have been accepted by the office of admissions. Students are reviewed for merit based scholarships/awards first. Then federal, state, and need-based institutional aid is awarded.

Funding for institutional aid (Notre Dame Grant and Residence Grant) and campus-based aid (Federal work-study, FSEOG, and Perkins loans) is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible students who meet the priority deadline for FAFSA filing (February 15).

Funding for state aid is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those who meet the state deadline for FAFSA filing (March 1).

Returning Women’s College Students

Returning students must reapply for aid every year and meet the February 15 FAFSA deadline to ensure renewal of institutional aid (Notre Dame Grant and Residence Grant) for which they are eligible.

Scholarships are renewed if the standards are met, as outlined in scholarship acceptance form from admissions.

State aid is awarded to students who meet the March 1 deadline and have renewable awards. Newly submitted applications for state aid are awarded as the University is notified by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

Federal aid is awarded based on student eligibility.

Campus-based aid (Federal work-study, FSEOG, and Perkins loans) is awarded based on student eligibility and available funding.
