Social Security Number
U.S. Social Security is a social insurance program for those employed in the United States. Individuals who live and work in the U.S. can apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). F-1 students can receive a Social Security Number if they have been hired to work on campus at Notre Dame. Students can open a bank account, rent an apartment, get a driver's license, and live in the United States without a Social Security Number.
