College of Notre Dame of Maryland Education Programs
College of Notre Dame of Maryland and Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) are strong partners in teacher preparation. Courses have been offered by Notre Dame at the AACC Arnold campus at the undergraduate and graduate level since 1997.

Bachelor of Arts (BA) – Elementary Education
This program offers a dual major in liberal studies and elementary education for the preparation of elementary school teachers and approved certification in elementary, along with early childhood and/or special education certification. Students may transfer into this BA program from either the two-year Arts and sciences Liberal Arts option of the AAT program.

Master of Arts in Teaching
Studying full or part time, year-round, students can earn their MAT in two years or less. With a strong liberal arts foundation, students complete professional work integrating theory and practical application, and participate in an extended internship in a professional development school.
The program meets initial certification requirements for:

  • elementary education
  • secondary education
  • special education for elementary or secondary
  • early childhood education

Master of Arts in Leadership in Teaching
The Leadership in Teaching program is for experienced teachers in a variety of settings. The program develops pedagogical and leadership skills which master teachers require.
An advanced degree for experienced and certified teachers poised to become leaders in their field, the Master of Arts in Leadership In Teaching will help students:

  • become a leader in the art and craft of teaching
  • enhance credentials and develop an area of specialization
  • demonstrate commitment to the profession
  • become the best educator you can be
