Inclement Weather Policy

With a significant number of students residing on campus, College of Notre Dame of Maryland is committed to remaining open during inclement weather.

Information on the opening status of the campus during inclement weather is available on the college’s Web site (www.ndm.edu). A voice mail message will be sent from the office of campus security to all campus phone extensions if there is a change in the College’s opening status. The Weather Line (410-532-5151) will also include the most up-to-date opening information. Text-alert messages will be sent to those who have signed up for them. Announcements will be made on Baltimore-area radio and TV stations.

College of Notre Dame community members should put safety first when traveling during inclement weather conditions.

Liberal leave: When the liberal leave policy is in effect during inclement weather, nonessential staff may take a personal day or vacation day. Essential employees should report to work as soon as it is safe to do so.

When weather conditions may affect staff members from reporting to campus, one of the following policies will be in effect:

Delayed opening: *[It is XXX (time) on Day, Date.] Classes begin at XXX time. Staff should report at XXX time.

Classes canceled: *[It is XXX (time) on Day, Date.] Classes are canceled. Staff should report as scheduled.

Classes canceled/liberal leave: *[It is XXX (time) on Day, Date.] Classes are canceled. Liberal leave for staff is in effect.
