Research Interest:
Darcy is interested in issues surrounding teaching and learning mathematics and statistics, and teacher education.  Darcy’s research interests are focused on cognition and learning issues related to statistics education.  In particular, her research focuses on learner’s understanding of the connections between probability and statistics, and how innovative pedagogy and technological tools impact learning in probability and statistics.  She is particularly interested in mathematics education at the college level and connecting research and practice in K-16 mathematics education.  She also works on the Mid-Atlantic Center for Mathematics Teaching and Learning (MAC-MTL) Quantitative Research Project, which is investigating the relationship between teachers’ knowledge of mathematics and their students’ achievement on standardized tests.
