Rebecca Rothey '07 Round and Round
Rebecca Rothey does her own gelatin silver printing using traditional darkroom techniques. For the past six months, Towson Framing Gallery has shown her work, which includes images in the tradition of French street photography and intimate studies of people, objects, and cityscapes. Rothey says "Documentary projects allow me to become unseen by those I’m photographing, helping me to share the emotions they’re experiencing as they go about their activities." Her work has been published in Black and White Magazine and was awarded honorable mention by the IPA Lucie Awards.

Amber Sowards '05 Sifting Through
Amber Sowards is currently in her second year of graduate school at Maryland Institute College of Art, pursuing her MFA in Photography & Digital Imaging. Upon graduation from College of Notre Dame Ms. Sowards obtained a job as a government photographer at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Ms. Sowards' photographs construct metaphoric narratives based on memories of personal experience. In one sequence of color photographs she journeys back to her childhood home, which is in the process of being demolished. In search of a childhood existence the work bares witness to past and present, fiction and fact.
