The 2016 Commencement Ceremony will be held at the Royal Farms Arena, formerly Baltimore Arena (201 W. Baltimore Street) on Sunday, May 22. Doors to the arena will open at 9 a.m. and the processional will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Commencement program begins promptly at 11 a.m. and should end around 1:30 p.m.
Tickets for Commencement are not required; however, the number of guests each individual graduate may bring is initially limited to 6. Additional tickets may be requested per the Graduating NDMU Student RSVP for Commencement Weekend found HERE. RSVPs are to be submitted by May 1st at the latest.
Graduates and their families and friends are encouraged to leave ample time to arrive at the arena. The University strongly suggests that families stay at hotels in close proximity to Royal Farms Arena to avoid traffic and parking delays.
Royal Farms Arena has increased all security measures. All parcels entering the building will be searched including purses, lunch bags, backpacks, briefcases, camera bags, et cetera. Please cooperate with all requests for inspection. Visitors exiting the building will not be allowed re-entry.
We will provide a video of the Commencement Exercises for those unable to attend the ceremony following the ceremony. The link to the video will be available at www.ndm.edu/commencement.
Helium or Mylar balloons and air horns are not allowed in the Royal Farms Arena.
For your convenience, a flower vendor will be on site in the Royal Farms Arena. You can pre-order your flowers to pick up prior to the ceremony.
Graduates should refrain from bringing personal belongings (purses, cell phones or other electronic devices) to Commencement. There is no secure location to store these items, and they should not be carried into the ceremony. Neither the University nor the Hilton Baltimore Hotel will be responsible for lost personal items.
View the Hotel Information page for more information regarding accommodations.
Parking is available for Commencement on city streets and in paid parking garages located near the Arena. For more information, please go to the PARKING INFORMATION PAGE.
