NDMU Associate Dean Named AIEA Neal Presidential Fellow

Dr. Astrid Schmidt-King, Associate Dean for International Education and Associate Faculty at Notre Dame of Maryland University, has been named an Association of International Education Administrators Neal Presidential Fellow for 2013-2014.
Dr. Schmidt-King, as head of Notre Dame’s Office of International Programs, leads the university’s internationalization efforts, oversees study and service abroad, international student/immigration services and the English Language Institute. She chairs the National Association of International Educators’ Women’s College and University member interest group, was named a 2012 Leading Women by The Daily Record and participated in the Fulbright IEA Seminar in Germany.
The AIEA Neal Presidential Fellows is a program that provides new Senior International Officers (SIO) at universities with experienced mentors who lead international programs at universities of similar size, scope and mission. Dr. Schmidt-King is one of just five fellow selected from universities nationwide.
