Notre Dame of Maryland Celebrates University Designation September 9, 2011

BALTIMORE—Notre Dame of Maryland is hosting a series of celebrations for students, alumnae and alumni, faculty and staff to commemorate its transition from college to university status.

Friday, September 9
8:30 to 10:30 a.m. “Gibbons Hall Tower of Pancakes” Breakfast, Noyes House lawn

Step into the past and celebrate our rich 116-year history with a vintage community breakfast.

10:30 a.m. University Day Mass, LeClerc Auditorium
Celebrate the opening of the 2011-2012 academic year with students, graduates, faculty and staff. Reply early, as space is limited.

Noon to 1 p.m. Dedication Ceremony, Gibbons Hall
Join the campus community at the steps of Gibbons Hall as we commemorate the historic changeover from college to university.

1:00 p.m. University Luncheon, Noyes House lawn
Enjoy lunch on the lawn at the “University Club.”

5 p.m. Picnic-Style University Celebration, athletic fields/lawn
Bring-Your-Own-Picnic (B.Y.O.P.), as well as classmates, family and friends, we’ll supply iced tea, lemonade and snowcones. Live music, fun and games!

8:30 p.m. Fireworks, athletic fields/lawn
Enjoy a live fireworks display over Theresa Hall and Gibbons Tower.

Saturday, September 10
8 to 10 a.m. Welcome Weekend College Students, Fourier Hall lawn

The fun continues Saturday with breakfast on the lawn.

Reservations are required. Please visit www.ndm.edu/NDMUcelebration. Campus parking will be limited. However, nearby parking locations will be available with continuous shuttle service provided.
