Notre Dame of Maryland University Announces 2012 Departmental Awards

Notre Dame of Maryland announced departmental awards at its 2013 Notre Dame Day celebration on February 7. The following students were among those honored:

  • Shykera Allender won the departmental award for communication arts
  • Jennifer Ashwell was recognized for representing Notre Dame in the Ethics Bowl North East Regional Competition
  • Stacy Bauer won the departmental award for Art
  • Shannon Berry successfully competed in the Federal Reserve Challenge
  • Cheryl Briggs won the departmental award for nursing
  • Jasmine Brooks won the departmental award for classical and modern foreign language
  • Kristen Butler was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Kelcy Bye won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team
  • Jillian Childs was recognized for representing Notre Dame in the Ethics Bowl North East Regional Competition and won the departmental award for philosophy
  • Taqsnim Choudhury won the departmental award for chemistry and was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Samantha Dameron was recognized for representing Notre Dame in the Ethics Bowl North East Regional Competition
  • Melinda Daugherty was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Rachel De La Haya successfully competed in the Federal Reserve Challenge
  • Rosa DeLeon was inducted into the national honors society in psychology, Psi Chi
  • Nissa Dirige was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Maria Eriksen successfully competed in the Federal Reserve Challenge
  • Danielle Fansi was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Amanda Fansler won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team
  • Kirby Gaddy won the departmental award for religious studies
  • Elizabeth Gielner was inducted into the national honors society in psychology, Psi Chi
  • Kristen Gilbert won the departmental award for business and economics
  • Melanie Gordon won the departmental award for criminology
  • Sierra Green was inducted into the national honors society in psychology, Psi Chi and won the departmental award for psychology
  • Madeleine Grewell won the departmental award for English
  • Megan Kemp was recognized for representing Notre Dame in the Ethics Bowl North East Regional Competition and won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team
  • Emily Langton won the departmental award for education
  • Alexis Lazaro successfully competed in the Federal Reserve Challenge
  • Alice Lilly won the departmental award for mathematics
  • Theresa Maseda won the departmental award for music
  • Marianna Mikowski won the Service-Learning Student Award
  • Molly Murray was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Alexandra Osorio won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team
  • Megan Satchell won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team

  • Stephanie Thackoordeen won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team
  • Huyen Vu was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society
  • Amy Watson successfully competed in the Federal Reserve Challenge and won the departmental award for history and political science
  • Morgan Wheaton won the Mary Anne O’Donnell Team Academic Achievement Award as a member of the 2011-2012 tennis team
