Career and Student Success Center
The Career and Student Success Center has recently undergone some changes including a change of name. Formerly known as The Academic and Career Enrichment Center (ACE), the Career and Student Success Center continues to work hard to ensure our students receive the best resources we can provide!
The Career and Student Success Center holistically addresses the vocational calling and career aspirations of the campus community, students and graduates by providing an all-inclusive suite of services to increase student achievement and confidence, to support academic and professional success, and to foster our community's commitment to life-long learning.
Our wide range of enrichment services, including career counseling, experiential learning, networking opportunities, and peer tutoring are offered to both students and graduates, free of charge.
In a challenging job market, we recognize how important it is that our students and graduates get the support they need to succeed. We offer individual and small-group career advising sessions.
Our career enrichment services include:
- Career counseling
- Career assessment administration and interpretation
- Résumé and cover letter composition
- Mock interviewing
- Professionalism coaching
- Career fair preparation
- Graduate school application process assistance
- Job search guidance
Preparation for your life after graduation begins now. Experiential learning is where academia and career development intersect. At the Career and Student Success Center, we help facilitate internship acquisitions and employer shadowing opportunities to better prepare you for the professional world. ACE even offers an Internship Seminar credit course every semester. Visit our Internships page for more information!
Network for Success
The Career and Student Success Center connects our student community to other students throughout the region by participating in the Maryland Career Consortium (MCC), a Baltimore network of 14 private and public colleges and universities, and with the Selective Liberal Arts Colleges (SLAC), a network of 8 liberal arts institutions spanning Virginia and Maryland. These two consortia coordinate a variety of events that students of participating schools are encouraged to attend. View the Career and Student Success Center Calendar to see which fairs and events are approaching. By taking advantage of networking opportunities these organizations provide, you can make connections with employers and employees that may prove to be essential resources for your future professional aspirations.
We offer individual and small group tutoring sessions, allowing students to acquire command of their coursework. Students may receive assistance with a specific assignment, prepare for an exam or develop more effective studying strategies. Tutoring is provided by appointment in the ACE Center, at the Loyola / Notre Dame Library and other areas on campus. To learn more about our tutoring program or to request tutoring assistance, please visit our Tutoring Services page.
