Experiential Learning
Preparation for your life after graduation begins now. Experiential learning is where academia and career development intersect. At ACE, we help facilitate internship acquisitions and employer shadowing opportunities to help better prepare you for the professional world. Another popular ACE service is the support we provide to faculty-led service-learning courses, which allows students to apply theories learned in class to practical settings.
Our experiential learning services include:
- Academic internships for credit
- Service-learning connections
- Employer shadowing
Network for Success
ACE connects our student community to other students throughout the region by participating in the Maryland Career Consortium (MCC), a Baltimore network of 14 private and public colleges and universities, and with the Selective Liberal Arts Colleges (SLAC), a network of 8 liberal arts institutions spanning Virginia and Maryland. These two consortia coordinate a variety of events that students of participating schools are encouraged to attend. View the ACE Calendar to see which fairs and events are approaching. By taking advantage of networking opportunities these organizations provide, you can make connections with employers and employees that may prove to be essential resources for your future professional aspirations.
Tutoring
We offer individual and small group tutoring sessions, allowing students to acquire command of their coursework. Students may receive assistance with a specific assignment, prepare for an exam or develop more effective studying strategies. Tutoring is provided by appointment in the ACE Center, at the Loyola / Notre Dame Library and other areas on campus.
