University Communications

The Office of University Communications handles internal and external communications for Notre Dame, including media relations, media training, crisis communications, speech writing, social media, event promotion and publications.

The director of university communications is the University’s primary contact with media.

If you are contacted by a member of the media, call John Rivera, Director of University Communications, at extension 5546 immediately.

If you have an event that is open to the public and you want to promote it through the media, contact the Communications Department no later than six weeks in advance.

Information needed includes the name of the event, date, time, place, event contact name and phone number than can be published, and why the event is being held.

If you have a story idea that might interest a member of the media, contact John Rivera.

Crisis Communications

The University has developed communications protocols in the event of a crisis. Depending on the situation, various communications methods will be used, including text alerts, email, voice mail, Web updates and direct communication with media. For more information, call John Rivera.
