Early in his term, President Trump banned travel from seven Muslim-majority countries, ostensibly to protect Americans from terrorism. He and his supporters say that Islam is a violent religion and the measure was necessary to prevent people from “terror-prone regions” entering the country. Critics say that the ban is thinly veiled Islamophobia, and the ban casts a wide, immoral net, preventing non-terrorists like Syrian refugees in crisis from entering. Which position is morally just?
