How to Apply
International students follow the regular application procedures for their undergraduate or graduate programs.
In addition, international students are required to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores. Scores should be sent directly to Notre Dame by January for fall admission.

Important Notes
- Students in the United States on an F1 Visa at NDMU must take 12 credits a semester if in an undergraduate program or 9 credits for a graduate program.
- Original, current bank or financial statements from you and/or your sponsor’s bank indicating sufficient funds to study at Notre Dame.
- Translation services may be needed for transcripts of universities abroad. The University recommends using WES or CAREE for these services.
Additional Costs
Students must be able to meet the following costs as they apply to their particular situation:
- Room and board for Winterim (if staying on campus)
- Textbooks, estimated cost per semester $500
Plan ahead for these potential expenses:
- Additional room and board for summer (if staying on campus)
- Tuition, fees and books during summer session
- Travel expenses from your home country to the United Sates
- Travel expenses during vacation periods
- Medical expenses not covered by health insurance
