Charitable Payroll Deductions

Employee Workplace Giving empowers employees to make tax-deductible charitable donations to support their favorite nonprofit organizations, traditionally through recurring payroll deduction pledges. Ask your HR department if they offer charitable payroll deductions.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible way to support Notre Dame of Maryland University and other causes you care about. By contributing cash, securities, or other assets to your DAF, you receive an immediate tax deduction and can recommend gifts to charities on your own schedule.

Benefits of giving through a DAF:

  • Contribute a wide range of assets to one fund
  • Centralize your giving and record-keeping
  • Eliminate capital gains on donated stock
  • Invest for tax-free growth
  • Include your DAF in legacy planning

DAFs can be established through your financial institution or community foundation. Speak with your advisor to learn more about setting one up.
