BALTIMORE – Kicking off Women’s History Month, an executive from Stanley Black & Decker will share insights from her journey to the C-suite at a Fortune 500 company as the featured speaker at the President’s Leadership Forum at Notre Dame of Maryland University. Free and open to the public, the forum will take place Wednesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. in LeClerc Theatre, LeClerc Hall. Check out all of NDMU's events celebrating women's history: ndm.edu/womenshistory.

Allison Lawrence, president of Stanley Black & Decker eCommerce, will share insights from her nearly 20-year career at SBD, where she rose through the ranks from working at a local store just out of college to leading the charge of growing the company's iconic brands online on a global scale. Lawrence was honored among the 2022 Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America by Savoy magazine. In a conversation with student moderator Jensen Armstrong ’24, Lawrence will provide valuable lessons about achieving personal and professional success.

Sponsored by the Women's Leadership Institute of Baltimore at NDMU, the President’s Leadership Forum is an annual celebration of outstanding leaders and provides a message of inspiration to the next generation of leaders.

In her current role, Lawrence’s focus is driving online sales strategy and growth of the company’s iconic brands online. A people-centered and results-oriented leader, she has held progressive roles in sales, marketing, and recently, as vice president and chief of staff to former CEO Jim Loree. In that role, she partnered with Loree to drive the company’s annual strategic plan, contributed to the development of important DE&I strategy, and led PPE distribution to employees and families during COVID, working tirelessly to keep the extended SBD family safe and ensure access to vaccines and related critical information around the world.

Lawrence serves on the national board for A Better Chance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to substantially increasing the number of well-educated young leaders of color who can assume positions leadership in American society. She is also a member of the board of Hartford Hospital, one of the largest teaching hospitals in New England.
