A Child’s Place Preschool is designed to encourage children’s natural love of learning in an environment where they feel comfortable, confident, and secure. Through a holistic approach, we promote each child’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth.
A Child’s Place is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education/Office of Child Care and participates in the Maryland Excels program. ACP offers a State-approved kindergarten for five-year olds. Classes are organized by age and instructed by a lead teacher and an assistant teacher.
School Day: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Before School Care: 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. (no additional cost)
After School Care: 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. (no additional cost)
Teachers and assistants supervise before and after school care within each child’s assigned classroom. Due to COVID-19, parents will complete a survey of preferred drop-off and pick-up times and will be assigned a designated schedule.
We are proceeding with registration for in-person fall 2021 and spring 2022 programming. We are carefully in step with CDC and state guidelines and will be sure to keep parents informed of any changes.
Before arriving on campus, please complete your child's daily screening survey.
The Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten programs at A Child's Place promote each child's emotional, social, cognitive and physical development through a holistic approach.
Our small class sizes and location on NDMU's park-like campus offer unique educational opportunities to take learning outside. As a designated lab school, we also welcome teaching students from NDMU and nearby universities which further enriches learning for ACP children.
