Become a Morrissy Scholar

First, apply to the University. Once accepted, those who meet the honors academic requirements will be invited to apply to the Morrissy program. Contact your admissions counselor if you have any questions.

Application Requirements

  1. Academic Standing: The transcripts you provide as part of your NDMU application are used to determine your eligibility for the honors program.
  2. Standardized Test Scores: Include a copy of your SAT/ACT scores for review.
  3. Essay: Develop the idea of our program motto: “Learn to Live” in about 500 words and one-page in length.
  4. Resume: Include your involvement in student and/or community affairs.

A faculty committee reviews the records of first-year students and transfer students to prepare a cohort of potential scholars.

Current NDMU Students

Each semester, current NDMU students are invited to apply by faculty recommendation at the request of the director.

Ordinarily, the honors cohort comprises 15 percent to 20 percent of each class.
