Biography
Dr. Pizano graduated with honors from the University of Bridgeport's functional nutrition master's program. She earned her Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) shortly after finishing her master's degree. She then continued her education at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) where she graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition. She has developed course work at the master's, post-graduate, and doctoral levels at MUIH in nutritional genomics, has published a series of peer-reviewed journal articles on the microbiome, contributed two chapters on nutritional genomics in a graduate level nutrition textbook, and wrote the first nutritional guidelines for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in the book Transforming Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. She has spoken at numerous conferences including the 2016 and 2018 American Nutrition Association conferences, as well as the 2017 and 2018 MUIH Genomics Symposiums. She sits on both the Pain And Fatigue Management and the Nutrition Working Groups as part of the International Consortium of the Ehlers-Danlos Society. Dr. Pizano is also the owner of Mast Cell Advanced Diagnostics and co-owner of Clinical Paradigms where she sees patients with mast cell activation disorders, connective tissue diseases including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, dysautonomia, immunodeficiencies, autoimmune small fiber polyneuropathy, and other rare diseases. She uses nutrition, nutritional genomics and metabolomics to help improve the health of her clients. Her practice combines practitioners from various disciplines including immunology, pain management, nutrition, Somatic therapy, and Pilates.
