Biography
Sherry Moore received her Pharmacy degree from Howard University in 1995 and brings over 30 years of experience in community grocery and independent pharmacy practice. She advanced her career at Giant Pharmacy, progressing from pharmacy clerk to pharmacy technician, graduate intern, floater, and assistant manager. In 1997, she transitioned to Metro Pharmacy (later rebranded as Shoppers Banner under SuperValu) as Manager, successfully opening the fifth pharmacy location in Pasadena, Maryland. During her tenure, she expanded and managed Medication Therapy Management (MTM), immunization, bariatric, asthma, and diabetes clinical programs. As a member of one of the inaugural classes of immunizers, she supported the evolution of pharmacy vaccine efforts in Maryland and established efficient immunization workflows within busy pharmacy settings, emphasizing patient-centered care and trust. In January 2008, the American Pharmacists Association recognized her for her significant contributions to pharmacy practice and patient care. She led the P3 program at the University of Maryland, providing diabetes education and monitoring support for patients in and around Baltimore, and served as the clinical specialist for Shoppers North, enhancing clinical services across their pharmacies. Later, as a clinical pharmacist at Halethorpe Pharmacy, she established critical protocols and policies for medication safety while developing robust clinical programs. Sherry’s passion for experiential education is demonstrated by her extensive involvement in precepting IPPE and APPE students from more than six schools of pharmacy over 15 years. In 2004, she served as a PGY1 Residency Site Director for the University of Maryland and Halethorpe Pharmacy. The University of Maryland honored her as Preceptor of the Year in 2010, and in 2013 she received the Dean’s Hall of Fame – Distinguished Community Pharmacist Award. Her dedication to experiential education continued in 2015 when she joined the Notre Dame of Maryland University School of Pharmacy as the Assistant Director of Experiential Education. From 2020 to 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she collaborated with CVS and Safeway to administer vaccinations to both adults and children. In 2020, she earned her master’s degree in education from Notre Dame of Maryland University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership for a Changing Population. At the university, she has played an integral role in establishing a new 2+4 curriculum and redesigning the co-curriculum program. She also brings 10 years of academic experience as an administrator in experiential education, teaching in the areas of leadership, emotional intelligence, communication, ethics, and immunizations, while supporting the development of other experiential skills. Sherry is committed to advancing pharmacy education by addressing each student’s unique needs in a holistic manner. Her goal is to inspire student growth and help them reach their full potential through advising, mentoring, coaching, and unwavering support.
