The future leaders of the Notre Dame Alumnae and Alumni Association will get a head start in learning the value of the alumni network, with the development of a brand new organization to bridge the gap between students and alumni.

The NDMU Alumnae and Alumni Engagement team is hard at work developing the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC), set to launch in spring 2022.

SALC is the perfect opportunity for students to learn about what it means to be an alum, to have a lifelong relationship with their alma mater, and become keepers of the University’s traditions and history. SALC will host events and programs to encourage connections for personal and professional development, as well as opportunities to reminisce about shared experiences.

“Our mindset is that our students are alumni in training,” said Alex DeJohn, director of alumnae and alumni engagement. “By developing a truly collaborative environment for students and alumni to learn from one another, we will develop a deeper sense of community and lifelong engagement. We can’t wait for our passionate and dedicated alumni to be part of this exciting group!”

Not only will the SALC be a training ground for future leaders, but it will also serve as a resource for our current association to gain insight into their lives as students. Once established, the SALC will reach out to the alumnae and alumni to get involved with various volunteer opportunities, events, and programs. To learn more, contact us at ndmalum@ndm.edu.
