(BALTIMORE, Md.) – A student affairs administrator and student success advocate was named associate vice president and dean of students at Notre Dame of Maryland University following a national search.

Dr. Meaghan Davidson joins NDMU’s Student Life Division on Feb. 21. She will lead a department that provides robust programs and services to enrich the student experience, including service and community engagement, inclusion and community standards, and residence life.

“Meaghan brings a wealth of experience in leading innovative initiatives and programs to promote student engagement, development, and learning,” said Scott Briell, senior vice president for enrollment & student services. “With a focus on student success, Meaghan will enhance NDMU’s efforts to prepare students to become leaders in our communities and the best versions of themselves.”

Dr. Davidson previously served as assistant dean of students at the University of Delaware, where she established the university’s first parent and family engagement initiative, launched a reengineered student crisis fund, and initiated a program to combat student hunger. Before that, she was an assistant director and a program coordinator for the Student Centers at the University of Delaware, developing dynamic programming for a diverse student population.

“I am thrilled to be joining the NDMU community and leading Student Life, which I often identify as the heartbeat of a college campus,” said Dr. Davidson. “I hope to bring students together in a way that builds a transformative student experience. I am looking forward to getting to know students, learning more about the student experience, and hearing the story of what makes NDMU a unique and exciting community. My vision is that all students truly see how their NDMU experience is connected to the larger community and their future.”

She holds a Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership, a master’s degree in higher education administration, and a bachelor’s degree, all from the University of Delaware.
