Cooking with SAGE is a fun opportunity for campers to come together and learn new recipes and cooking techniques with a SAGE chef! Each day will focus on a different theme – from pizza dough to cake decorating. Your camper will walk away with new knowledge and skills.


Each day, campers will learn about the cooking topic and recipe or how and why each step in the recipe is important. At the end of the week, recipes will be assembled for a final product and campers will have the opportunity to share their creations and explain why they chose their favorite ingredients!

Theme Descriptions

Pizza Making

During our pizza class, students will learn how to make pizza dough and learn what each of the ingredients does and why.  Students will get a short lesson on the history of pizza and why it is so popular.  It will be a full day of flour, Tomatoes, cheese, and fun!  We will learn about the different ways to cook it, different styles, why the steps in the recipe are so important, and how it all comes together to be the thing we love PIZZA! At the end of the class, we will put it all together and show off our creations and explain why we choose our favorite ingredients! 

Cake Decorating

It’s time to use those artistic skills and get your colors ready!  Students will learn many techniques for cake decorating – not just baking the cake and eating it too!  Let’s learn the fun and exciting world of cake decorating together!  Students will learn how to frost a cake, how to make frosting flowers, piping tricks, and how to make your frosting look as smooth as ice! At the end of the class, we will put it all together and show off our creations and explain why we choose our favorite ingredients! 

Dumplings

Take a journey to another country and learn about a specialty to eat while doing so. In this class, we will learn how to make and explore everything dumplings. You will be exposed to the different cooking methods, what to fill them with, and why dumplings are so popular, all while building them from the ground up. At the end of the class, we will put it all together and show off our creations and explain why we choose our favorite ingredients! 

Sushi Making

The fun and excitement of sushi isn’t just about the fish!  There are many ingredients that make sushi delicious for any palate!  Students will learn how to roll sushi with bamboo mat and how the rolls are traditionally eaten. They will explore the different varieties of sushi, where it originates from and the wide range of foods that can be incorporated into it. There is something for everyone in this sushi class that even the pickiest of eaters will love what they make. At the end of the class, we will put it all together and show off our creations and explain why we choose our favorite ingredients! 

Truffles

With this class, you will enter the world of chocolate as you learn how to make your own variety of chocolate truffles. Learn where chocolate originated and how it is made while navigated through everything chocolate. We will explore the varieties of truffles, what makes them such a sweet treat, and why each step of the recipe is so crucial when putting together the finished product. At the end of the class, we will put it all together and show off our creations and explain why we choose our favorite ingredients! 

Hours

Morning Session (Ages 5-8)
Camp: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Afternoon Session (Ages 9-12):
Lunch: 12:30 – 1:00 p.m
Camp: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Session Dates & Fees

$125 non-refundable deposit is built into the overall session cost of $325.
