Expanding opportunities in professional academic programs, NDMU enrolled its first cohort for a newly launched occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) program, making NDMU only the second Maryland school to offer an occupational therapy doctorate.

The full-time degree program is an entry-level pathway for those who want to pursue a career in occupational therapy and meets the growing need for occupational therapists. Within the next decade, the demand for occupational therapists will increase by 16%, with a need for more than 22,000 new professionals.

Following Notre Dame’s healthcare educational model, the OTD program coursework goes beyond the textbook, with a strong emphasis on the compassionate care of patients. The 104-credit program is year-round and can be completed in three years. New cohorts will start each fall.
