Honoring her commitment to excellence in student learning, an NDMU education student received the 2020 Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award from the Maryland Association of Teacher Educators.

Julie Hipp ’20 showed her dedication to the education profession through her coursework and her teacher internship. The award recognizes teacher candidates who infuse the practice of reflective, responsive teaching into her work in a clinical environment. The association celebrated Julie’s achievement in a virtual ceremony.

The Maryland Association of Teacher Educators selects one outstanding teacher candidate for the annual award, based on nominations from colleges and universities around the state.
