Mentorship in Action: NDMU Bonner Leaders Inspire Local Middle School Girls

BALTIMORE, Md. – When middle school girls at Tunbridge Public Charter School gather for their weekly mentorship sessions, laughter and conversation fill the room. The young students are greeted by a group of Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) Bonner Leaders—service-focused college students who have made it their mission to inspire confidence, curiosity, and connection. 

We’ve never followed the status quo. With an amazing faculty, a diverse and engaged student body, and a supportive and personal culture, our students have all the resources needed to create a future that transforms the world.

In 1895, our founders built an institution to educate students who are hungry to make their mark on the world and be a force for positive change. We had to open doors and knock barriers down- and we've been knocking them down ever since. As society has evolved, so has NDMU. Today, we've broken down another barrier and now welcome men into our unique undergraduate experience. Because the values on which we were founded and that still guide us- excellence, inclusivity, service, and social responsibility- apply equally to all. 

NDMU is a comprehensive university that offers bachelor's degrees, certificates, graduate and professional programs. All programs provide a firm foundation in the arts, the sciences, and, most importantly, the deeper question of who you are and what you want to achieve.

You are invited to attend a memorable literary reading featuring three distinguished contemporary poets—Joseph Grantham, Elise Houcek, and Zack Darsee—on Thursday, November 20 at 6:30 PM in Doyle Formal. This event is open to the public. Three of the most engaging voices in contemporary poetry will join us for an evening reading and craft discussion. Elise Houcek and Zack Darsee will read from their collection, From the Pocket of Agent Dickinson, a prose-poetry text released by Inside the Castle, an experimental small press. Joseph Grantham, a poet and publisher, will read as well, and the night will conclude with a brief conversation on poetics.

Pharmacy Doctoral Student’s Article in National Publication Inspires Peers to Explore Entrepreneurship


BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame of Maryland University’s (NDMU) Doctor of Pharmacy candidate, Jasra Noor Zaheer D'26, doesn’t intend to wait decades for pharmacy ownership, it is a vision she is already pursuing.

“I grew up watching my family pour time and energy into something they could call their own,” Zaheer said. “That exposure shaped the way I view business. Risk didn’t mean fear – it meant opportunity.”
