School of Pharmacy Hosts Large Community Health Fair

School of Pharmacy members hosted a Community Health Fair near Annapolis on September 7, assisting over 150 local community members in collaboration with Joy Reigns Lutheran Church.
Thirty students in Notre Dame's American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter educated attendees about vaccines, diabetes, and medication safety. They also took blood pressures, discussed heart health, and connected participants to county resources. NDMU's Spanish-speaking student pharmacists played a vital role in inviting the local community, which included a large immigrant population, and helping to distribute diapers and wipes to families in need. The students were accompanied by vice chair and associate professor Dr. Ashley Moody, Dr. Mayrim Millan-Barea D'18, and the chapter’s new practitioner mentor pharmacist.
