  • Reverse Transfer Program
Sixty percent of Maryland students who transfer from two-year to four-year colleges or universities do not complete the requirements for an associate degree.

If you’re one of these students, you may qualify for our Community College Reverse Transfer Program, which enables you to earn an associate degree while working toward your bachelor’s degree at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame has special reverse transfer partnerships with Howard Community College, Anne Arundel Community College and the Community College of Baltimore County, but all Maryland community colleges participate in reverse transfer.

Program Benefits

An associate degree can help you build your resume while you work on your bachelor’s degree—and make you a more attractive job candidate in today’s competitive market.

How to Apply

Fill out the Reverse Transfer Program permission form to authorize the release of your community college transcripts. Our staff will walk you through the process of evaluating your transcripts to ensure you meet the program's guidelines for participation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I guaranteed a degree from my community college?

The granting of the associate degree is at the discretion of and subject to the requirements of the community college, which is the degree-granting institution.

Is there a deadline?

Students may apply for the program at any time throughout the year. Participants will also have access to special online tutoring through SmarThinking.
