School of Education Awarded Grant to Help High School Students Become Teachers

BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University’s School of Education, in partnership with Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), is set to take the lead in providing opportunities for high school students from diverse backgrounds to enroll in college and join the teaching profession.

New Campus Resource / Un Nuevo Recurso en NDMU: Gator Groceries

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new campus resource, Gator Groceries. Students, faculty, and staff can sign up to receive groceries on the third Friday of each month, with our first pick-up scheduled for Friday, January 20.

You must register by January 15 using this form. Pick-up will be located in the MBK Seminar room from 3-4 pm. Groceries cannot be held past this pick-up window.

This service was made possible through a generous partnership with the Maryland Food Bank.

Life on Hold, curated by Casey McKeel, features the artwork of women incarcerated at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Jessup, MD. Under Casey's leadership, Notre Dame of Maryland University faculty, staff, and students visited MCIW this fall to lead workshops in painting and collage, and to work with the women to make art that speaks to their experiences.

The resulting artworks will be on display at Gormley Gallery from January 23 to March 3, 2023, and will then be installed at MCIW. Join us for a reception and gallery talk by Casey McKeel on Saturday, January 28, from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Providing Hope to Others: NDMU Alumnae Continues Lifelong Passion for Service in Malawi

BALTIMORE – Shannon (Berry) Bachmann ’13 has always had a passion for service. Her volunteer work dates back to middle school, and attending Notre Dame of Maryland University on a service scholarship gave her additional opportunities to give back to surrounding areas.
