The Office of University Communications handles internal and external communications for Notre Dame, including media relations, media training, crisis communications, speech writing, social media, event promotion and publications.
Media Relations
The director of university communications is the University’s primary contact with media.
If you are contacted by a member of the media, connect with University Communications immediately by contacting communications@ndm.edu or extension 5569.
Event Promotions
If you have an event that is open to the public and you want to promote it through the media, contact the Communications Department no later than six weeks in advance.
Information needed includes:
- Name of the Event
- Date & Time
- Location
- Event Contact Name and Phone Number (that can be published)
- Purpose of the Event

If you have a story idea that might interest a member of the media, contact communications@ndm.edu.
Crisis Communications
The University has developed communications protocols in the event of a crisis.
Depending on the situation, various communications methods will be used, including:
