Middle school students from Tunbridge Public Charter School will be visiting NDMU's campus on Friday, 10/28, for a day of Halloween fun. They will attend a matinee showing of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, followed by an afternoon of festivities designed for them by NDMU students. Featuring Charita Cole Brown, mental health advocate and author of Defying the Verdict: My Bipolar Life

Charita joins the NDMU community to share her story of being diagnosed with bipolar I disorder in her final semester of college, and being told by doctors that she would never lead a “normal” life. As a recognized educator and leader, Charita shares her story of hope strongly grounded in faith and activism to remove stigmas surrounding mental illness. There will be a Q&A hosted by Marie Allee, Ph.D., Director of Counseling Services. Copies of Defying the Verdict will be available for signing during this session. This event is sponsored by the Women's Leadership Institute of Baltimore.

Students will get to sit in on a class and meet with the Art Therapy Department to have all of your questions answered.
