Sister Alma Science Year Sets Up NDMU Students for Success Through Lab Research Opportunities


BALTIMORE – Sister Mary Alma McNicholas, SSND, Ph.D., better known as Sr. Alma during her time at Notre Dame of Maryland University, was a beloved figure on campus for six decades. The first 52 of her 60 years at NDMU were spent in the Biology Department, including 38 years as the department’s chair.

Jennifer Norris

Physician Assistant Jennifer Norris has been a clinically practicing Physician Assistant since graduating with a Master of Physician Assistant studies in 2004. She has been a preceptor, instructor, and adjunct faculty member within several Maryland and Pennsylvania PA programs, as well within EMT programs. She holds a broad range of direct patient care experiences, having worked in general surgery, thoracic surgery, trauma, and most extensively in women’s health.

Class of 2022 Spotlight: Damian Lewis


BALTIMORE – A journey that began 17 years ago for Damian Lewis ’22 has finally reached the finish line.

Lewis, who will graduate Summa Cum Laude on May 22 with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, first enrolled in Notre Dame of Maryland University’s College of Adult Undergraduate Studies back in 2005. Currently a senior network engineer for Alliance Technology Group in Hanover, the desire to finish his degree after an extended time away was about more than professional or financial motivation.
